Dear Fellow AMFA Members,

A great deal of concern has been generated due to the recent sale of Mesaba Aviation Inc. to Pinnacle Airline Corp. It seems that there are more questions now than answers, and there has been a great deal of speculation as to what the future holds for us. Please remember, we need to deal in the facts as they are presented to us, speculation will only cause undue stress and concern for everyone. Our uncertain future is a very unsettling feeling, with that said, I would like to point out a few things that we do know.

AMFA has not had any discussions with the Company on any level, locally or on a National level. We eagerly await the opportunity to speak with them so that we may better define our future and to work with them in the best interest of our membership. After our last Coalition meeting with AFA and ALPA, we now know that AFA also has not had any discussions about their future. ALPA has had discussions regarding the “Flow Through” program and the furloughed Mesaba Pilots. Additionally, they are in the process of putting together a proposal in which all ALPA Pilots for Mesaba, Pinnacle, and Colgan would be under a single contract as well as a single seniority list.

As more information becomes available to us, we will publish more updates. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this uncertain time.
