AMFA National - Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association

AMFA National is conducting an election for the position of Alternate AMFA – Southwest Airlines (SWA) Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) Event Review Committee (ERC) Representatives. As Scott Paine is running unopposed for the position of Primary ASAP Representative, his name will not appear on the ballot.

The Primary AMFA ASAP Representative will serve as the SWA membership’s representative on the SWA ASAP ERC and shall report to the National Safety & Standards Director, or his designee. It is anticipated that this position will serve full-time based at the SWA maintenance facility in Dallas, TX. The term of service for this position will commence on July 1, 2010, and will expire at 11:59 pm et on June 30, 2012, or upon termination of the program, whichever occurs first.

The Alternate Representative will serve in the event the Primary is unavailable. The term of service for this position will commence on July 1, 2010, and will expire at 11:59 pm et, June 30, 2011, or upon termination of the program, whichever occurs first.

Votes for this election will be cast using the TrueBallot Inc., WebVote® and TeleVote® systems. All active AMFA members in good standing employed by Southwest Airlines are eligible to vote in this election. Note: Any member whose membership dues, fees, and/or assessment obligations have not been paid in full is a member in bad standing, and therefore, their vote will be eliminated prior to the vote tally. Members are strongly urged to resolve any arrearage prior to the tally so their vote will be counted.

The election notice and voting instructions will be mailed to eligible voters at the address on file with AMFA National as of April 20, 2010. Any eligible member who has not received voting instructions in the mail by May 3, 2010, or anyone having questions about the voting process, should contact the Elections Administrator at 720-744-6629.
