In an effort to settle grievance number 202221 (Mandatory Overtime Pay for Field Service Trips) the Company has offered a settlement; however, part of this settlement requires the modification of our current contract language for the PMI data entry for deferrals.

In accordance with the AMFA Constitution all modifications to contractual language must be ratified by the membership; therefore, the AMFA – Mesaba Airline Representative has requested a system-wide secret ballot referendum regarding the Mandatory Overtime Pay for Field Service Trips Letter of Agreement (LOA). The complete text of the LOA will be included in each ballot package and is available through your Local.

This secret ballot referendum will be conducted by mail, and all active members in good standing employed by Mesaba Airlines are eligible to vote in this referendum. Note: Any member whose membership dues, fees, and/or assessment obligations have not been paid in full is a member in bad standing, and therefore, their vote will be cancelled in this referendum. Members are strongly urged to resolve any arrearage prior to this referendum being tallied.

Ballots will be mailed to eligible voters at the address on record with AMFA National by October 2, 2009. Any eligible member who has not received a ballot package by October 13, 2009, or any member who spoils a ballot, may request a new ballot by contacting the Elections Administrator at the telephone number listed below no later than October 21, 2009. If you request another ballot, only the replacement ballot will be counted.

Mail your ballot in the pre-addressed stamped envelope in sufficient time for it to be received by the post office box by 10:00 am et on November 2, 2009. The results will be announced in accordance with AMFA National policy.
