AMFA was certified at Alaska Airlines (ASA) on March 30, 1998, and the Association currently represents approximately 680 ASA members who maintain the airlines fleet of 737s and MD-80s. The current contract is the third AMFA – ASA negotiated contract, and the amendable date is October 17, 2011.
AMFA member Tada Yotsuuye was presented his 45 year pin at Alaska Airlines on June 17th in the Alaska Airlines hangar in Seattle. Many co-workers, friends, and family members were present to observe the celebration and recognize Tada for his extended service.
Hired by Alaska Airlines in 1965, Mr. Yotsuuye is the most senior mechanic represented by the Association as well as a Charles Taylor "Master Mechanic" Award recipient.
In February 2010, AMFA National called for nominations to fill the positions of AMFA – Alaska Airlines Primary and Alternate Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) Event Review Committee (ERC) Representatives.
