Fred Digne – National Safety and Standards Director
I have been employed by Alaska Airlines as an Airframe and Powerplant
technician since 1991
I began my aviation career at America West Airlines in 1985
as a Customer Service Representative. I later transferred into the seat shop as
an interior repairman and attended Chandler-GilbertCommunity College where I
received my A&P licenses. While at AWA I worked C-check, engine shop,
engine change crew, and gear change crew. In ‘96 I joined Southwest Airlines
and have worked line maintenance, hanger R.O.N., C-check and 7 years as a lead
mechanic. In 2006 I took on new responsibilities as AMFA Local 32’s Safety and
Standards Chairman. I helped to develop the Professional Standards program at
our local, while assisting in the support and advancement of the SWA/AMFA
accident investigation team.
I
feel that as my Local’s Safety and Standards Chairman, I was able to insure
that our members maintain the highest level of professionalism, while
continuing to work safely and efficiently. I am passionate about our profession
and would like to see AMFA continue to grow. Today more than ever, we need to
unite and build a stronger, larger membership so that we can secure our
families and our futures. Through membership growth and our continued
affiliation with AEI, I am confident we can achieve this.
The duties and responsibilities of the National Safety and Standards Director
are outlined in Article VI Section 9 of the AMFA Constitution.
