In collaboration with the Commemorative Air Force, Dallas College, Workforce Dallas, as well as other university and industry partners on a sheet metal program for underrepresented groups in aviation, AMFA has been asked to solicit our membership for interest in becoming an instructor for the program. Although the program is in the early stages of development, and details have yet to be finalized, finding an instructor is one of the most important parts of the process.
We expect the program to be based in Dallas, TX at the Dallas Executive Airport. The position will likely be a paid, part-time position under the supervision of Dallas College. For now, the plan is to have multiple 10-week sessions each year teaching the fundamentals of sheet metal to a class of around 10 students. A more complete job description has been attached for your review.
If you are interested in becoming an instructor for this program, please contact AMFA National at 720-744-6632 jay.johnson@amfanatl.org with your name and contact information by December 15, 2020. There will be a meeting with all interested candidates soon thereafter to answer questions and go over next steps. To be clear, AMFA is in no way involved in the hiring process. Dallas College will take AMFA’s list of candidates and vet them as required. Thank you for your interest.
Jay Johnson
National Secretary/Treasurer
